In this DIY project, Klaartje shows how she worked with custom-sawn MDF to create her own radiator conversion. She made a design, had everything cut to size delivered to her home and got to work straight away. Read more about her approach and experience below.

Description of Klaartje

Because ready-made conversion kits do not fit my radiator, I designed one myself that is open on the side. /p>

How I made this project

Drawing made. Have MDF 16mm cut to size:

  • 3 uprights of 65.0 x 20.0 cm
  • 4 beams of 85.0 x 10.0 cm
  • li>window sill 230.0 x 25.0 cm
  • 3 long beams of 230.0 x 5.0 cm
  • 2 old hardboard grids used.

Planks painted. Framework of uprights and beams and old grille mounted with short screws. The framework and grille are reinforced with a beam behind it, so that the framework maintains a distance of 2.0 cm from the radiator. A beam is attached under the windowsill board that hooks behind the radiator. Windowsill shelf on the frame. Sides remain open due to pipes running there and radiator knob.

Dimensions of my DIY project

H 65.0 cm
W 230.0 cm
D 25.0 cm
