Description
We bought fairly cheap standard cabinets from Ikea that are very practical as storage. But they look cold and uncomfortable in the attic bedroom alone in white. That is why we ordered rustic oak tops with a thickness of 26 mm from OPMAATZAGEN.nl, which we placed on top of the cabinets as a 'topper'. It looks very sleek and immediately makes the atmosphere a bit more cozy and the appearance of the cabinets a bit more luxurious. We are very happy with it.
Worktop made of solid oak
First we had to build the cabinets from Ikea. Sometimes they are not very close to each other, so we connected them with some screws so that they fit together well. We then measured the cabinets - because there is a TV on them, we kept the actual depth of the cabinets so that there is a gap to the wall where you can route the cables. Please note: you will then have a gap towards the wall due to the skirting board. If you want the panel to fit against the wall, you must add that to the depth of the cupboard.
Then order panels from OPMAATZAGEN.nl. Went completely without any problems and clear information about collection. End result .... very beautiful and sleek.
If necessary, we also coat the panels with a matt colorless varnish to protect them against dirt and stains.
